...Means staying in India in style. Friendly, helpful staff, and with beautiful surroundings.

Le Meridien! This was my home for 5 weeks, starting at 1:30 am in late July. A guy from the hotel met me at the airport; very friendly and the only greeting I had that time of night. People here went out of their way with courtesy.

My room was #107. Quiet, and overlooking busy Sankey Road. The bed here was incredibly comfortable, and I always got good sleep. I made use of the four pillows they gave me--2 on each side, one under my head and one over my head. It was a cave! I loved it. Ever since then I've been trying that at home.

Inside--the building seemed to have Egyptian-type motifs, brass and gold tones, and the other structures and wood flooring were great. This was the view of the wall corner--definitely Egyptian, or at least it reminded me a little of the Fox Theatre back in Atlanta. Again, the styling details were certainly not overlooked.

Upstairs view from the main floor; I loved taking the short stairwells up because it looked and smelled woodsy-musty like what Casablanca (sans smoke) might have smelled like. Here I guess the shot's a little blurry--I must have been excited. If you took the elevator, a guard would be there to meet you--it was very cool! The dining hall stood behind him and further down the hall to the left--the breakfasts were wonderful and free! Very International/Continental.

Yet another view, looking down from the third floor--(hope you'll forgive me, those of you who are skiddish with heights.) I didn't want to lean over much more myself. It was a central layout, where you could view all floors straight down. At the top of the photo you can see the front desk. To the left of the front desk, was this Knight statue. I guess they were really into chivalrous protection, which was just fine by me. At one point we'd gotten wind of a strike uprising happening outside in town, so I was glad to be in here.

Now for the sturdy Courtesy folks! Check out the moustache on this guy. He was super nice to pose for me here. :)
